Our Lord Jesus Christ gave His followers a blessed gift on the night of his betrayal - His ongoing, living, presence among them by way of a sacramental meal of forgiveness and eternal life. (Matthew 26:26-28)
The Lord's Supper is truly a Holy Communion. The participant receives the body and blood of Jesus Christ in, with, and under the bread and wine. As the Apostle Paul teaches: "Isn't the cup of blessing that we bless a participation (communion) in Christ's blood? Isn't the bread we break a participation in (communion with) the body of Christ?" (1 Corinthians 10:16)
When we offer Holy Communion, that necessitates that all who participate must do so in sincere repentance of their sins, in true faith in Jesus as their God and Savior, and with complete trust in His words in this sacred meal. His body and blood are truly present and given for the forgiveness of his sins. Furthermore, the one who participates is giving a public confession. You hold the same beliefs as all others who commune.
Every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are proclaiming the Lord's death until He returns. Anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the Lord's body and blood. So let a person examine himself, and then eat bread and drink from the cup. Anyone who eats and drinks without regard for the body is eating and drinking judgment on oneself. (1 Corinthians 11:26-29)
So that we might rightly administer and make faithful use of the blessed sacrament of Holy Communion, we ask that those who wish to commune and are not confirmed members in good standing of Trinity Lutheran Church or another Lutheran Church Missouri Synod LCMS congregation to please speak with the pastor before the service.
Thank you for respecting our practice in regard to Holy Communion.
In March of 2020, we set up a YouTube channel for making videos available to all those who choose to watch worship services in the comfort of their homes. There are several advantages for us to be on YouTube.
We can use our YouTube channel strategically to reach those who already attend our congregation, as well as a much larger community of online viewers. For example, members who have moved away now have the opportunity to watch Trinity Lutheran Church wherever they may be. Someone in Miles City, MT who does not regularly attend worship services might come across our YouTube channel while browsing local videos.
Another advantage of YouTube is that you can watch a video at any time after we post it. It's possible to watch any given video days, weeks, months, or even years. Feel free to watch your favorite videos whenever you want to, as many times as you want to.
Did you know that people will often check out your digital presence before they attend in-person worship services? A great way to understand what a worship service is like is by viewing videos — on Facebook, Vimeo, or YouTube.
